Description:

Maximum dive depth will be 60 feet.
We are chartering the Proteus at 8 am – 4 pm on Saturday for 2+ dives and 8 am – 12 pm on Sunday for 2 dives.  Do not forget to register with the Fathom Five National Marine Park upon arrival. The registration fee is currently $5.50 per day and $21.50 for an annual pass. See the Fathom Five National Marine Park. Passes are available at Divers Den in Tobermory.   Surface temp will be in the low 60’sF and at depth will be in the low 50’sF.  7 mil Wetsuits or Drysuits are mandatory.

Please note that the dive shops in Tobermory will not fill any tanks made from the 6351 Alloy (if you do not know if you have one of these tanks – the number will be stamped into the metal near the neck of the tank – otherwise have someone more experienced look at the tank to let you know). This is their prerogative as a business not to fill these tanks, you can rent tanks if you have one of these tanks. 

Accommodations:

We will again have the use of a private “cottage”, 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom house is 10 minutes south of Tobermory. For the past few years, a friend of a SUCI member has loaned their cottage for this weekend, at a nominal cost. Details of the location will be given in a separate email. The cottage has 4 bedrooms with double beds, a single hallway bed and two couches. The property can also accommodate several tents.

The Coach House Inn is a popular place but must be booked ahead of time.
