Description of the weekend

  This is SUCI’s largest Diver Training weekend. During this weekend  current club members get together to assist our new students with their certification dives and to do a few pleasure dives themselves.  The Marmora Dive site is filled with artifacts, some placed conspicuously for our viewing pleasure and other that are natural features.  In 2023 a  few SUCI members uncovered several Potholes in the River, right where we do our dives.  It is well worth the short trip to Marmora to have a look at these archeological marvels.  This weekend is for everyone, whether you are getting certified, helping with the certification process or just there to do a few pleasure dives and hang out with other club members.

For the Divers doing their certification courses:

Welcome to the final step in your Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver Certification.  Open water students, this will be an amazing opportunity to see the astonishing underwater world.  Marmora is host to lots of marine life including Bass, Pike, Pickerel, and huge Crayfish.  Suci members have recently discovered several “potholes” right at the dive site.  Check with your dive leader to find out where to see these centuries old naturally made marvels .  This is also a great opportunity to meet other SUCI members, ask questions, and trade stories. 

Lunch will be arranged for a minimal cost, anyone can participate, details to follow

Students are responsible for their own equipment (BCD, Tanks (minimum of 2), Regulator with computer and a compass, 7mm wet suit, Mask, Fins, Snorkel, weight belt and 28 lbs. of weight. The cost to rent will is around $100.00.  You should try on, and reserve your rental equipment 5-7 days in advance from your local dive shop.  Scuba 2000 gives all SUCI members a 15% discount on rentals.  For more detailed information, contact Lauren
