Description:

This is a very different and exciting dive trip from all others you will encounter. There are a few major benefits. First; We will be able to visit the US. There are 3 wonderful shipwrecks in US waters. Secondly, we will control the pace at which we dive, the number of dives, the dive sites that we seldom visit, and get to sightsee and snorkel, as there are some beautiful homes and landscapes in the 1000 islands. We will relax, have fun, enjoy each other’s company and set our own meal plan. As a group, we will arrange all the meals. More will be discussed at a group pre-dive meeting in mid-August to iron out the logistics.

We take possession of the houseboat at Houseboat Holidays in Gananoque at 12 PM on Friday and return them by 4PM on Monday. We can return 9AM Tuesday or Monday afternoon. The group will decide. The incredibly low price includes the boat rental, food from Friday supper to Monday Lunch, gas and insurance on the boats. These houseboats have 65HP motors and large gas tanks. This will enable us to dive on quite a few wrecks. We can boat downriver toward Brockville making a few dives on the way or head to the US. It is 8 hours to Brockville but the trip will be broken up with diving, lunch, dinner, and an overnight stay in which we will anchor in a bay.

Meals: Will prepare our own meals. Perhaps eat in Brockville or Alex Bay, New York

Tank fills yet to be confirmed;

1- By ABUCS at Rockport, on Saturday. Fills are $15 for air and $25 for Nitrox including delivery and tip for the driver. A member may be asked to accompany ABUCS driver to speed up the process

Weather can change the dive sites or the order in which we dive each wreck.  On this trip, we can plan to do the following dives: Hill Island drift, Kinghorn, Lillie Parsons, Daryaw, Robert Gaskin, Muscallonge, AE Vickery, America and the Keystorm. See the map from the Ontario Underwater Council.; http://underwatercouncil.com/dive-ontario/

   Friday, Sept 9th – Load the houseboat and depart. Start with 4 tanks. Bring your passport, your own lunch for Friday, dive equipment, clothing and designated food. We will need to incorporate visiting the US shipwrecks and checking in at Bolt Castle.
